Learn about what it takes to retire in Italy, and so much more

WHO WE ARE

We are a group of American women who fell in love with Italy and decided to move there for our golden years. We created this site to help other women who have the same dream. Italy has so much to offer, from its rich history and culture to its delicious food and wine. But most importantly, it has a high quality of life and a low cost of living. We had many questions and challenges when we started our journey, especially about visas, taxes, health care, and housing. Now we share our insights and tips on how to make the most of living in Italy, as well as some stories and photos from our adventures.

Whether you are looking for advice on how to apply for a visa, how to find a suitable home, how to manage your cross-border finances, how to learn the language, or how to enjoy the culture and lifestyle, we have you covered. We also share our personal experiences and recommendations on the best places to visit, eat, shop, and have fun in Italy. We hope that our site will inspire you and help you achieve your dream of retiring in Italy.

WHERE TO BEGIN

Before you can retire in Italy, you need to figure out how to stay there legally for more than 90 days. As an American, you can only visit Italy for up to 90 days out of every 180 days with your passport. To live in Italy full time, you have two options: get a visa or acquire citizenship from a European Union country.

This will be the most important step in your Italian retirement process!
